Meet Leslie, Founder of MARILAG Soap & Botanicals

Hi, I’m Leslie, born and raised in the Philippines 🇵🇭now based in Sunnyvale, California 🇺🇸 the founder and soap maker behind MARILAG Soap & Botanicals.

By profession, I’m a nurse, and caring for others has always been at the heart of who I am. Outside of nursing, I also own a photo booth business, where I enjoy creating fun and memorable experiences for special celebrations.

My journey into soap making began unexpectedly while watching talented artisans on social media. What started as curiosity soon became a passion for learning the art and science of handcrafted cold-process soap.

I create small-batch soaps using thoughtfully selected ingredients such as grass-fed tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, natural milks, botanicals, clays, and pure essential oils. Each bar is carefully formulated and handcrafted with attention to quality, beauty, and the everyday ritual of self-care.

The Meaning Behind MARILAG

Inspired by my Filipino heritage, MARILAG means beautiful, magnificent, or splendid in Filipino.

To me, MARILAG represents beauty with intention—caring for ourselves while creating something meaningful for others.
